I clicked the link to Yellow Man and immediately my son started swaying and bouncing. He then laughed and rocked the cradle (now turned toy box) furiously from side to side. Same thing just happened with the UB40. Good call on the reggae. I have found that oldies are quite a hit and somewhat less annoying than Raffi. I'm sure I read somewhere, probably The Week, that Mozart doesn't actually make babies smarter. I am partial to Debussy, however.

On another note, my husband was also uncomfortable talking to our fetus. He decided that reading Louis L'amour novels would have to suffice. And they did.

Listen "j.vo," I don't who you are but I have my suspicions. In the interest of free speech, I'll let your comment stand. Um, who the hell are Beth Gibbons and Rustin Man?

To be fair, I have nothing against other people (or kids) listening to Raffi. I just can't be in the same room. Same goes for Alanis Morissette. Any idea when a kid can safely wear headphones?

i will no longer tolerate being referred to as "a friend". and while raffi might be lame "the daughter" still laughs every time i make the tooth brushing sound to "brush your teeth" or whatever that lame-ass song is called. and yes, raffi totally sucks and we have been dancing to a lot of beth gibbons and rustin man i still stand by the fact that the rhymes, however stupid they might seem to us, will amuse the hell out of our kids.
